THE BOAR: RICHARD

(Played by David Newhouse )

ADOPT RICHARD AND RECEIVE TWO TICKETS TO THE OPENING NIGHT PERFORMANCE AND MEET-AND-GREET POST-SHOW RECEPTION

"And thus I clothe my naked villainy With old odd ends stolen out of holy writ, And seem a saint when most I play the devil."

There is perhaps no villain in drama as heinous as Richard. He helped his brother Edward to the throne during the War of the Roses, but peace doesn't agree with Richard. He wants the throne, and he doesn't care who he has to kill to get it! No one is safe from his schemes - the widow of a man he's killed, his brothers, even his innocent nephews are merely tools to be used and then discarded. He'll lie, cheat, steal and murder his way to the crown, and he'll do it all with a smile! He's a guy you'll love to hate.

If you're brave enough to adopt Richard, he might just choose to spare you...but then again, maybe not.

A masterful politician, he is the perfect ally for Richard, and the two of them manage to manipulate the populace into making Richard king. But not even Buckingham can stomach Richard for long, and eventually turns against him. Henry, the Earl of Richmond, isn't fooled by their lies. When the people finally rise up against Richard's tyranny, it is Richmond who leads them. By the end of the play, Richard is left with only enemies seeking their revenge. Whether you are a cynical mastermind or an idealistic young firebrand, we can all agree - Richard has to go!

"I had an Edward, till a Richard killed him; I had a Harry, till a Richard killed him; Thou hadst an Edward, till a Richard killed him; Thou hadst a Richard, till a Richard killed him."

When the York family fought the Lancaster family for the throne of England, Richard was the man who killed Henry VI and his son Edward. This widowed both Queen Margaret, wife of Henry VI, and Lady Anne, wife of Prince Edward. Richard's smooth lies manage to seduce Lady Anne despite her hatred of him. Queen Elizabeth, wife of Richard's brother Edward IV, soon falls victim to Richard's machinations as her sons are taken from her. The three women are all queens, but all powerless to stop Richard's abuses. And then, Richard sets his sights on Elizabeth's daughter ...

The three queens have lost so much through Richard's ambitions. Won't you lend a hand?

BLOOD BROTHERS:
CLARENCE, YORK, PRINCE EDWARD, KING EDWARD

(Played by Dan Burke, Brendan Downey, Eugene Henninger-Voss, and Jay Miffoluf)

ADOPT THE BLOOD BROTHERS AND RECEIVE A LETTER FROM THEM AND OUR UNDYING GRATITUDE

"Go, tread the path that thou shalt ne'er return. Simple, plain Clarence! I do love thee so, That I will shortly send thy soul to heaven, If heaven will take the present at our hands."

The House of York has defeated the House of Lancaster in the War of the Roses, placing King Edward IV on the throne. But Edward is growing sick, and worries for the future. He wishes to stem the political infighting to secure his two young sons, Prince Edward Duke of Wales and Richard Duke of York, with a hopeful future. But a prophesy of doom has warned Edward that "G" will cause his line to end. Edward arrests his brother George, Duke of Clarence ... but perhaps he should have been a bit more suspicious about his other brother, Richard, Duke of Gloucester? It was Richard who invented the prophesy to turn his family against one another in a shrewd attempt to steal power. And when both Edward and Clarence are gone, Richard is named Lord Protector of Prince Edward and York. He couldn't possibly be evil enough to murder his own nephews ... could he?

Act quickly and adopt the House of Lancaster! This offer is for a limited time only, because their numbers are growing thin!
