Six actors will bring to life six classic Edgar Allen Poe works, including "The Tell-Tale Heart," "The Masque of the Red Death," and "The Raven." Music and movement combined with the timeless, piercing words of Poe will create a haunting and memorable evening of performance. Complimentary wine will be served, and any size donation buys your admission!

All performances will take place at Gamut Classic Theatre, located on the Third Floor of Strawberry Square in Downtown Harrisburg, PA.

BAREFOOT IN ATHENS

Dedicated to the proposition that the only thing that is known for certain is that nothing is known for certain. The founder of Western philosophy, Socrates, ambles about about his home city-state of Athens barefoot covered with a ragged cloak -- much to the embarrassment of his family, friends and government. Possessed of no Answers, he has an endless supply of Questions. By asking these Questions, and inspiring others to ask them, he brings about his own death sentence and also opens the minds of every successive generation for the next two and a half millenia.

This comedy follows the attempt by a young theatrical agent to re-unite his elderly uncle, a former vaudevillian great, with his long-time stage partner for a TV reunion. Despite their celebrated reputation, the two old men have not spoken in twelve years. Besides remastering their sketch, the two men have numerous issues to work out before they are ready to return to the public eye.

A Year With Frog and Toad follows the cheerful Frog, and the rather grumpy Toad through four fun-filled seasons. Waking from hibernation in the spring, these two great friends proceed to plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding, and learn life lessons along the way, including a most important one about friendship and rejoicing in the attributes that make each of us different and special.

HAMLET

March 24 - 26
Hamlet, a prince distraught by the hasty marriage of his Uncle Claudius to his newly widowed mother. The ghost of Hamlet's father visits his son, reveals that he was murdered by Claudius and entreats Hamlet to set things right. Shaken, Hamlet devises a complex plan to prove Claudius's guilt, but the choices he makes result in multiple tragedies.
This 80-minute version of Hamlet is performed at school assemblies and special events all year. It hits the mainstage for a one weekend run for the public. Click here for even more information!

8th ANNUAL SHAKESPEARE'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Gamut Theatre will celebrate 447 years since Shakespeare's birth, when it holds its eighth annual Shakespeare's Birthday celebration -- and this year's bash is bigger and better than ever! Held at Gamut Classic Theatre, Shakespeare's Birthday Celebration will feature silent and live auctions of Gamut and Shakespeare-themed items. The live auction will be conducted by Erica Taylor of Classic Edge Auctions in Hershey, PA.
