J. Clark Nicholson
Artistic Director
Mr. Nicholson is the Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Gamut Theatre Group. Before settling in the Harrisburg area, Clark performed with several theatre companies in the southeast U.S., including The Warehouse Theatre, The Rolling Rep Theatre, Southeastern Theatrical Productions and also the longest running production in North America,The Lost Colony Outdoor Drama.
Melissa Nicholson
Executive Director
Melissa Nicholson is the Executive Director of Gamut Theatre Group, a non-profit organization that resides at Gamut Classic Theatre, “Home of the Classic Story,” located in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. As an Arts Administrator she has served as Executive Director of Popcorn Hat Players Children’s Theatre for over ten years and Managing Director of PHP’s partner company, Harrisburg Shakespeare Festival, for seven years before the two companies merged in 2001 to become The Gamut. She recently completed a two-year term as Secretary of the Shakespeare Theatre Association of America, the national organization of professional Shakespeare theatres.
Brianna Dow
Managing Director
Bri joined Gamut as a core company member in the fall of 2007 to take on the role of the Office Manager. After some changes in the company her position changed to the Director of Operations, and most recently, Managing Director. She is enjoying all of her new tasks, especially maintaining this beautiful website! She has also been on the production team for many shows over the last few years here at Gamut. Some of her favorite experiences have been Stage Managing and designing costumes for Iphigenia at Aulis, Assistant Stage Managing Titus Andronicus and Love’s Labour’s Lost, Most recently she designed the costumes for HSF’s production of Romeo and Juliet and many of the Popcorn Hat shows.
David Ramón Zayas
Development Director
David Ramón Zayas was born in Pittsburgh and raised in Metro-Detroit. He attended school at Eastern Michigan University, where he was active on the Forensic Speaking team. He has been acting professionally since 2005, and has performed with Detroit Repertory Theatre and the CathArctic Circle.

Emily Carys Gray

Emily Carys Gray is a native of the Harrisburg area who bought her first Complete Works of William Shakespeare when she was 13 years old and never looked back. She attended the 2008 Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts for Performance Theatre and later attended the University of Pittsburgh where she earned a BA in Theatre Arts. She is proud to be working with such a wonderful company and looks forward to sharing many broken legs with them.
