BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

The young magician, Merlin, has lost his magic, and his self-centered master has turned into a Beast! They live a lonely life until one night two strangers, including the smart and beautiful Bonita, happen upon their castle. Watch as the Popcorn Hat Players use music and magic to tell the classic tale of how opposites attract. Will it end happily ever after? We hope so...

The Popcorn Hat Players acting company take a back seat and let area students shine when they star in this beloved classic fairy tale! Students ages 5 through 18 are invited to audition to play a part in this singing and dancing extravaganza! Two performances only will take place at the beautiful Sunoco Theatre at the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts. Directed and adapted by Melissa Nicholson and Ellie Alayne, based on the story by the Brothers Grimm.
Jack and the Beanstalk

Jack’s mama surely didn’t expect beans in exchange for her old cow, Betsy Lou, but when a beanstalk sprouts overnight that reaches into the clouds, little do they know what adventures await! Join Jack, the captive princess, and the Goose that lays the golden eggs as they try to escape from the Giant. Sometimes believing in magic (beans, that is) really can make all your dreams come true!
Aesop's Fables
June 16 - 26
A delightful assortment of Aesop’s famous fables! From “The Cat Maiden” to “The Two Frogs” to “The Ant and the Grasshopper”, children will laugh at the antics of Aesop’s crazy characters and learn some valuable lessons along the way! Did you know that each of Aesop’s fables has a moral? Some of the famous ones in this play include “Think Before You Answer,” “Don’t Be Greedy,” and “Look Before You Leap!”
