One of Shakespeare's greatest tragedies, Macbeth is no less than the story of the eternal struggle between good and evil centered in one man's soul. His journey is a regression into an animalistic state. All because of the choices he makes when tempted to make decisions based on the pure strength of his desires. It is a well-balanced morality play, but also an exciting and seductive story.

Flying in the face of theatre superstition, we chose Macbeth as the first production in our new theatrical space - the Gamut Classic Theatre. Surrounded by the stark but versatile scaffolding system that structured the space, the set for Macbeth was a spare wooden-planked stage. Characters stalked and paraded this platform in costumes that transcended period, presenting  buckled and armored warriors, tattered witches and the sleekly stylish Lady M.
