Alexis Dow

Alexis joined Gamut full-time in May 2006, after spending three years as a member of Big Science Theatre at Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts. She has most recently played Tamora in Titus Andronicus, as well as Aemillia/Courtezan in The Comedy of Errors, Ophelia/Horatio/Guildenstern/Player Queen in Hamlet, Ruffiana in A Company of Wayward Saints, Cordelia in King Lear, Poins, Mouldie and Lord Hastings in Henry IV: Parts I and II, Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Hermione in The Winter's Tale and Hero/Verges in Much Ado About Nothing. She also played Catherine in Proof at Open Stage of Harrisburg.
Currently, Alexis plays Puck in Gamut's educational tour of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
In addition to her work on stage, she pens the weekly “Night Life” column, in the Patriot-News' GO! Section, for which she recieved Harrisburg Magazine's 2006 "Simply The Best" Readers Choice award for Columnist/Journalist. Alexis is a graduate of Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA, where she appeared in over twenty mainstage productions and earned the Mary L. Welch Theatre Award.
