Greetings from Gamut Theatre Group! HSF is now in its eleventh year of providing a unique and widely praised cultural resource to all of the Central Pennsylvania community and has been recognized by the press and the public for the quality of its productions, the breadth of its programs, its reach into all segments of the community, and its ability to keep classic stories relevant and alive. Over 32,000 people have attended HSF productions, and our offerings and audience are continuing to grow.

We continue to present Free Shakespeare in the Park each summer, providing critically acclaimed free performances to the entire Harrisburg and Central PA community - 2,700 people attended the 2004 show. In the fall of 2004, we presented fifteen matinee shows attended by 1,700 students from eighteen Central Pennsylvania schools, and we hosted our first annual High School Shakespeare Competition.

We present Shakespeare camps, classes and workshops throughout the year, the popular "Bard Senseless" 30-minute spoofs, Master Acting classes with Danielle Liccardo from NYC, Shakespeare-based Continuing Legal Education programs with the Dauphin County Bar Association, and last November we sold out author Laurie Rosakis' presentation of "The Complete Idiot's Guide to The Tempest."

HSF is nationally recognized as well: this year, Melissa Nicholson, our Executive Director, was elected to serve as an officer of the Shakespeare Theatre Association of America, the preeminent Shakespeare Theatre organization in North America.

Of course, "what's past is prologue . . ." With your support, we will continue to grow and to expand the reach of our programs. We have great goals set for our 2005 season, and you can help us to achieve them. Your donation supports not only Free Shakespeare in the Park, but HSF programming all year long. What a worthwhile community investment!

"Amongst the Greater Harrisburg Region's most beloved and esteemed cultural arts organizations is the respected Harrisburg Shakespeare Festival."
-Harrisburg Mayor Stephen R. Reed
